How do I sign up?

You may submit your request for home care services by clicking here. You may call our office at 269-204-6537 at your convenience, and we will assist you in taking the first steps to signing up for in-home care services.

What services do you provide?

We provide non-medical home care services. We help with household chores such as dusting, washing dishes and cleaning the bathroom. We do laundry and can even provide transportation to doctor’s appointments or shopping and errands. We will provide medication reminders. We also may help your loved one with personal care such as bathing, dressing, and toileting. We provide companionship and respite care for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s.

How soon can I get started?

Take the first step and schedule a free assessment here. We will come to your home and meet with you to discuss your needs. Then, together, we will build a care plan for your loved one that reflects their individual home care needs. Once your in-home care needs are determined, we will then schedule one of our trained companions to come to your home and provide assistance.

Are caregivers insured and insured with workers’ comp?

Yes. All of our Caring Companions are our own employees, not subcontractors. We carry liability insurance, workers compensation, and we are bonded. We do a criminal background check on each employee.

How do I pay?

We offer a variety of payment options. We accept credit cards, ACH payments and online payments.

How often am I billed for homecare services?

Caring Companions Kalamazoo invoices its clients on a weekly basis. Payment is due upon receipt of the invoice each week.

What are your after hours policies?

Our phones are staffed on evenings, weekends, and holidays. You may reach our office 24/7, 365 days a year and you will always speak to a live person.

Is there a contract for services?

We do not have a contract. We use a Service Agreement which allows us to provide home-care service to you for as long as you would like. You are not locked into any certain time frame of days, weeks or months. We know in-home care needs change; we want to continue to be flexible enough to accommodate any changes in service that may occur.

What happens if a caregiver cannot come to my home at the appointed time?

We will make every effort to find a substitute caregiver at least 2 hours ahead of time when we can, or reschedule the appointment for another day if no one is available.

Are your caregivers covered by workers’ comp in case of an accident?

Yes. While the State of Michigan does not require licensing for non medical home care, all of our Caring Companions are our own employees, not subcontractors and covered by workers’ comp. We carry liability insurance, workers compensation, and we are bonded.
